How can I get a ISBN no for a book which I am publishing myself?

I plan to publish a book myself. I want a ISBN (International Standard Book Number). Where do I need to register (If in India) to get a ISBN no and what is the total cost and procedures involved? There is no publisher involved, so can I get a ISBN no or do I need a label of 'publisher' to get it.....

Click on 'How to get an ISBN' at the top and it takes you to a page which tells you who you need to contact. It doesn't answer all your questions, I guess you just have to contact them to find out.
