Thank you.|||An individual cannot purchase an ISBN number. Only a publisher can and only in lots of ten. You self published, right? You didn't do your research first. Self publishing stinks and this is just one of the reasons. Pax - C|||Publishers handle getting the ISBN numbers. Authors don't worry about that.
You might check on copyright in the Bahamas.|||The real problem here is that you don't have a publisher. You shouldn't give up on that too easily. A LOT of people who can't get published locally find they can be published in the US. It's a huge and hungry market. Remember universities and colleges have their own publishing departments as well. It would be worth contacting any with a faculty dealing with the cultural or other aspects of your region. Worth a try, and good luck.
