What is the ISBN code in a book stands for?

ISBN is a code found on page 2, or 4 or 6 and sometimes on the backcover of a book|||I= International

S=Standard

B=Book

N=Number

Use it to look up books in any registry or library. If you want to find a certain book the quickest way to find it is using this number. This works in library's, databases, and retail stores, etc. There is also a set of books, new edition each year, that you can find in most libraries called "Books in Print". In these you can look up books by Author, Title, and sometimes Subject, and get the ISBN number, the publisher, author, title, etc. It's a great cross reference. This system is powerful and is a great way to find information. Have fun with it. : )

Calico.Kitty|||http://www.isbn.org/ will provide you with tons of information about ISBNs.
