When self publishing a book through a POD service, is it important to supply your own ISBN?

The ISBN Agency assigns ISBNs at the direct request of publishers, e-book publishers, audio cassette and video producers, software producers and museums and associations with publishing programs. In other words, it's up to the publisher to apply for one for you.|||Not all POD publishers provide ISBNs. Most do, but be sure to check.
