How to pronounce "-" when we say the ISBN (International Standard Book Number)?

How to read:

ISBN 981-240-472-4

Thanks a lot!|||If you are being very clear, and someone is likely to be writing it down, I'd suggest "hyphen" for the "-" in the ISBN number. "Dash" is possible too, but it's actually a hyphen. Dashes are longer.

However when you give a phone number, you group the digits logically, and don't need to say either 'hyphen' or 'dash.' A slight pause in saying the numbers indicates the separation,|||I (eye) S (ess) B (bee) N (en) nine eight one two four zero four seven two four

.|||you say the word dash
