Is there a website that compares book content of 2 versions from same author by giving the ISBN of 2 versions?

I've mistakenly purchased a brand new book that turned out to be published in Asia, same title, same authors, same edition as the version published in America, but with different ISBN number from the one published in America. I want to know if it is identical in content to the American version before I buy the American version.|||I guess the content will be the same. An author very rarely writes two versions of his or her book. However there might be an abridged version of the book, in which case a comparison would demonstrate nothing more than one being longer than the other. Usually when a book is published in different countries, the ISBN number pertains to the country rather than to the editing press, at least this is the case for some editions having presses in different countries. A book printed in Asia is very much cheaper than one printed in America. One of the reasons why an edition is present in both places is that it is cheaper in Asia.

You could check out your book at www.amazon.com. By initiating a search you would get the book you are looking for as well as the different versions if this the case. If you already have the original book, even though it is not published in America, it would be a waste of money going to buy another. If the book you are referring to is a classic, you could find it at www.gutenberg.org. It's a website where you can download books for free. The books there usually are the original, unabridged version.

Hope this helps!|||There is no such web site.

If the books you're comparing have an ISBN-10 and an ISBN-13, they'll be almost the same (with the extra numbers), and these will be the same book.

Except for any possible printing mistakes, they're going to be the same book, unless one is a translation (which is unlikely).
