How do I get an ISBN in Canada?

i am planning on publishing a book with Lulu.com, how do i get an isbn number in canada?|||When a book is published it automatically has an ISBN assigned to it no matter what country it is published in. Lulu.com should do all the work required for this like any publisher.|||Here is a form. However this is the sticking point with Lulu. You cannot get an ISBN as an author. Only publishers can get ISBN's = so to get one you have to register as a publishing business and purchase a minimum of ten numbers plus pay a fee to register. It is going to cost you around 300 dollars. See the things Lulu doesnt tell you about their FREE services? This is why I and most people in the traditional publishing world speak out against self publishing. I have known people literally go bankrupt trying to self publish and sell their own books.
