How to get an ISBN for my book?

Yes, I have a copyright but no International Standard Book Number, or whatever the heck ISBN stands for. Any help gratefully received.|||John,

You get an ISBN when it's published. The publisher will assign this to your work. The publisher will also copyright your work and send it to the Library of Congress.

Here's some help on that subject:

PJ M|||ISBNs are issued by the publisher. If you self-published, you will be charged for the ISBN. It is a 13-digit number (as of 2007) that identifies your book, the binding, publisher, category, etc.

This is a great site for info about the ISBN system.
